Peter,

As an IT person for last 15 years I always visioned by goal to be CIO someday. I started as developer and now I am a Sr. Project Manager and loving every moment of it. Your story truly enhanced my determination and inspired me to put this in practice and further improve myself and my career.

Thank you,

Peter,
This is a great story, beautifully told by an accomplished manager. I can relate to your 5-point management framework, having used a similar approach in my 25+ years in a managerial position.
As for the last point, I frequently told my staff that being an avid gardener, I applied the same gardening principles to people development, including the regular pruning to keep the plants healthy.
